Valerie Liese

Growing up as one of five children, Valerie Liese started her career at the ripe old age of fourteen, changing oil and washing trucks when her father started his business in 1971. When not in school, she would do what it took to get the business off the ground, whether it was unloading a truck or working in the office typing up delivery receipts or loading manifests. She even helped build one of the company's first offices in the back of a plastic extruding plant after loading up trucks at night, then putting up walls until the wee hours of the morning until it was time to start the next day's deliveries. After high school graduation, Valerie worked part time and attended Cypress College until her father suffered a heart attack and she went back to work full time.

Not too many people leave their marriage ceremony on the back of a 45 foot flatbed trailer decked out with a wrought-iron garden bench and decorated with paper flowers with 5 pound coffee cans hanging from the back of a trailer, but Valerie and her husband Bob, paraded through downtown Anaheim, CA 30 years ago making headlines.

Valerie was promoted from office manager to president when her father retired in 1994. After being in the business for over 35 years, she grew the company to over 100 employees and recently built a 126,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art terminal in Ontario , California after 19 years in a 21 door terminal in Chino.

Valerie has been involved in the trucking industry since 1971 and is presently on the board of directors serving as Vice President with the California Trucking Association. She is in line to become the state's association first woman president. Valerie has been a past chairperson of the Riverside/San Bernardino area from 1997-2000 and 2003-2004. She also chaired the Safety, Security & Human Resources, Legislative, and Image & Public Relations committees. She presided as president of the Chino Hills Toastmasters, past member of Assemblywomen Nell Soto, Gloria Negrete-McLeod and Congressman Gary Miller's Transportation Advisory Committees.

Valerie is also the current president of the Foundation for Kids, a non-profit group that raises funds for over forty abused and neglected children's homes throughout the Southern California area.

As President and CEO of Jack Jones Trucking, Inc. she currently resides with her husband Bob and a menagerie of pets just a stones throw from her terminal and golf's when she can find a few moments to relax.
